Selena Placino is an industrial designer based in the Philippines, working across furniture, lighting, and everyday objects. Her practice is grounded in a material-driven and resourceful approach, exploring how local materials, cultural context, and available processes can shape new possibilities in design. Guided by curiosity and observation, she creates objects that balance function with atmosphere, play, and a sense of connection to everyday life.

Her work has been developed in collaboration with LAMANA, VENZON, Senseware, Exploratory Projects, Hiblatech, and Chicco, spanning furniture, lighting, packaging, and objects. Across these collaborations, she explores the relationships between designer, material, maker, and user—considering how limitiations, processes, and local knowledge can become active parts of the design.
